First Grade Assembly Reminds Us About What We Value

I watched a very good assembly today. First Grade (Vasquez) told us about the Lower Primary values. They did it in song and chant. Using posters they reminded us of the necessity of being:

  • Independent
  • Curious
  • Confident
  • Enthusiastic 
  • Respectful
These are a great starting point for our values and I am pleased with the way we are working with them in the school. Congratulations Ms Vasquez, Ms Andrea and all the class!
At the bottom of the stage was our motto: "Effort Leads to Success". This was referred to both by the class and Ms Corry.
Effort is important - this, in the end - is what counts. By working hard and having a "growth mindset", one in which we believe that we can achieve, we know that we shall get there in the end. And, importantly, we shall make mistakes. But we shall learn from them.
